Pre-Construction Services

Most new projects start with a phone consultation and a visit to your home, followed by an assessment of the project and a preliminary cost estimate if the scope of the work is fairly well defined.  After understanding the budget range and the scope of the work, we ask for a retainer for pre-construction remodeling services such as design work, detailed pricing, revised cost estimates, finish selection management, etc.

Project pricing depends on your project's scope of work, design decisions, material selections, and other factors.  Our goal is a successful project and happy customers, and a clear design along with a thorough and informative estimate is a big step in the right direction.

We will help you define or refine your design according to your budget.  When needed, we do drawings to clarify your design for pricing and building department permitting.  This may include as-built drawings, floorplans, and elevations.  3D perspectives and renderings aren't required for building departments, but they are a great tool to help visualize a project if necessary.  We use a current version of Chief Architect professional architectural software.

​We offer turn-key concierge service for out-of-town clients that own 2nd homes or rental property in the area.  We've completed many successful projects with just a few in-person meetings and modern technology.

Getchell & Garborg offers a multitude of services and years of construction experience under one roof.  We manage, coordinate, or provide in-house labor for all the various building trades that may be necessary to complete your project.  We are skilled at assessing the "big picture" of a remodeling or renovation project down to the smallest finish details.
